There has always been innovation and experimentation in the cannabis industry, but up until a few years ago, much of that was kept hidden away from public view. With the walls coming down, we are starting to see how forward thinkers are finding new and creative uses for cannabis.
That’s something that’s always appealed to me. When we founded Indus Holdings, Inc. in 2014, we concentrated on creating edible products for our customers. But we knew that as the industry grew, we would expand into new areas, with products designed to improve the health and quality of life of consumers. This has led Indus to partner with and acquire several new brands, giving us a much more diverse portfolio of high-quality THC and CBD products.
Here are some of the newest Indus brands you’ll see on the shelves of our retail partners in California.
Humble Flower Co.
In May, we were beyond thrilled to announce our acquisition of Humble Flower Co., a life-changing health and beauty brand co-founded by Thea Wayne and Jordan Darian. Their line of infused beauty oils and lotions — including the Soothing Lotion (scented and unscented), Relief Balm, and Body & Face Oil — pack a powerful combination of THC and CBD, hydrating the skin while providing topical relief from pain, psoriasis, eczema, dry skin, and other ailments.
Not only is Humble Flower Co. one of the biggest female-fronted brands in cannabis, it is now one of the most recognized mainstream brands, having seen its products put on display at the flagship Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City as part of the store’s inaugural CBD Beauty Corner.
Shredibles is a line of handmade, all-natural, vegan friendly CBD infused protein bars, a healthy post-workout recovery alternative to mass-produced energy and nutrition bars. Its co-founders, Matt Callans and Roddy Hanson, are childhood friends who reconnected after college and formed Shredibles in their early 20s. Their goal was to create a cannabis product aimed at helping athletes and fitness fans recover faster.
Infused with 20mg of broad-spectrum, hemp-derived CBD oil and available in White Chocolate Macadamia, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Dark Chocolate Blueberry Almond flavors, Shredibles reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety; resulting in faster physical and mental recovery.
Within two years of its founding, Shredibles had expanded beyond the CBD-based retail market and is available in gyms, yoga studios, grocery, and health stores throughout the United States. Additionally, several notable athletes and artists – Joshua Berovides, Giovanni Messina, Leticia Esparza, Parker Hurley, and Conor McHugh, among them – have partnered with Shredibles through sponsorship and brand ambassador deals.
Many Californians were already familiar with Platinum Vape when the family-owned company signed an exclusive sales and distribution partnership with Indus. Platinum Vape produces high quality cannabis edibles, vape cartridges, flower, and pre-roll products in California and Michigan.
The company’s most popular products include its vape cartridges, which use a pesticide-free cannabis oil; and its cannabis-infused chocolate edibles, in creative flavors such as Cookies n’ Cream and Raspberry Lemon Crunch.
Platinum Vape was founded by the father and son team of George and Cody Sadler, which is pretty remarkable. They’ve had some incredible success together and we’re proud to have them as part of the Indus family.
Orchid Essentials is another brand with a strong following on the West Coast. The company signed an exclusive sales and distribution deal with Indus in May, which allows its lineup of vape kits and cartridges to have a wider exposure in licensed retailers throughout California. You’ll be able to recognize Orchid products by their names, including Bubba², Dutch Treat, Jack Herer, Tropical Trainwreck, and Apple Cookies flavor. Those are great names.
Our acquisitions and partnerships with these brands are all part of Indus’ larger plan to give consumers the widest array of options in multiple product categories. It’s crazy to think that we started this company focused on edibles and now we’ve expanded into health and beauty products, fitness brands, and so much more. It’s crazier to think all of this has happened within five years.
We can’t wait to see what the next five years will bring.
