Robert Weakley serves as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Salinas, California-based Indus Holdings, Inc., a vertically integrated cannabis company with world-class capabilities, including cultivation, extraction and manufacturing, brand sales, marketing, and distribution. As the organization’s leader, Mr. Weakley is responsible for overseeing the senior management team, as well as creating and implementing the strategic direction of Indus and its award-winning brands.
Having served as Chief Executive Officer since the organization’s founding in 2014, Mr. Weakley has remained committed to Indus’ overarching goals: creating products that emphasize consumer safety while advancing the changing perceptions of cannabis use. In 2015 Indus launched two cannabis-infused edible brands new to California: the award-winning Altai Brands and Dixie Elixirs and Edibles. Under Mr. Weakley’s stewardship, Indus has launched a portfolio of owned and distributed brands, including Altai, Original Pot Company, Flavor, Beboe, Cypress Cannabis, ACME Elixers, House Weed, Legal by Mirth Provisions, Orchid Essentials, TerpX, and Moon.
Having played a pioneering role in the emergence of the regulated cannabis market, Mr. Weakley has forged partnerships with state and industry leaders to ensure positive growth in a highly regulated and evolving market. In 2018, Indus became the exclusive distribution partner for WAYV, an automated, on-demand, online supply chain platform servicing brands and licensed retailers throughout California. The partnership links WAYV with Indus’ statewide network, creating a trusted marketplace to browse and order cannabis products.
A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Weakley evolved from hotel food and beverage operations into the large-scale epicurean event planning business in 2008 when he co-founded Coastal Luxury Management, a company widely recognized for producing annual luxury Food & Wine events in picturesque and influential destinations.

Mr. Weakley led Coastal Luxury Management’s launch of Cannery Row Brewing Co. in Monterey, CA in the summer of 2010, featuring the largest selection of beer on tap in Northern California.
In summer 2011, he made his mark as a budding restaurateur with his involvement in the purchase of the historic Stokes Adobe building and the opening of Restaurant 1833. In December 2013, Coastal Luxury Management partnered with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to open Rose. Rabbit. Lie., a venue blurring the lines between restaurant, entertainment space and nightclub. In early 2014, Mr. Weakley opened the company’s first downtown Los Angeles restaurant, the acclaimed Faith & Flower.
Previously, Mr. Weakley spent six years as the Executive Assistant Manager and Food and Beverage Director for the world-renowned Highlands Inn Park Hyatt in Carmel, California. He has also held management positions at Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek, Colorado; Prairie Restaurant in Chicago; and the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Mr. Weakley is a graduate of Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smiths, New York and holds a degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. He has served on the Workforce Investment Board for Monterey County as chair of the planning committee, a 43-person board comprised of community leaders; and the Monterey Business Council.
Maintaining ties to the culinary industry, Mr. Weakley is also a board member of the Monterey County Wine Educational Foundation and is a regional board member for the international gastronomic society Chaine des Rotisseurs. He also serves on the executive board for Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County. A certified sommelier and a member of Les Toques Blanc and the International Wine and Food Society, Mr. Weakley is a past national board member for the American Institute of Wine & Food.
